Mukti’s teachings invite attunement to the act of being and to the heart of awareness. Such attunement can awaken Spirit to reveal Itself as your essential self and as the essence of all of life. This revelation is known as Self-realization, and is the birth of conscious Spirit made manifest, known as embodiment.
Her teaching methods for nurturing realization and embodiment are founded in meditation, self-inquiry, and body awareness, and encourage connecting with one’s self as an expression of all of life.
Mukti speaks to paradoxes of spiritual unfolding: knowing and unknowing, dissolution and inclusion, the transcendent and immanent, human and divine, and speaks to the spiritual journey as one of an unfolding discovery and expression.
In addition to her teachings, which you are invited to explore on this website, Mukti offers talks, Q&A and dialogues, silent retreat days, longer residential retreats, private meetings, and online broadcasts and courses.
Mukti’s name originates in Sanskrit and is most often translated as “liberation,” a term used in Vedanta and Buddhism much the way the term “salvation” is used in Christianity. Mukti has been a teacher at Open Gate Sangha, in the lineage of Adyashanti, since 2004 and has been a student of her husband, Adyashanti, since he began teaching in 1996, when they founded Open Gate Sangha together. Upon Adyashanti’s retirement in 2023, he passed the role of Head Teacher of Open Gate Sangha to Mukti.
Previously, Mukti was raised and schooled in the Catholic tradition and also studied the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda for over 20 years—two paths that have greatly informed her journeys into meditation, introspection, and prayer.
She holds a master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, a license in acupuncture, and a Hatha Yoga teaching certification. These backgrounds in body awareness and the healing arts, as well as her years of study with Adyashanti, largely inform her presentation style, her recommended inquiry methods, and her interest in the energetic unfolding of realization and embodiment.
In Mukti’s pointing to wholeness, or the undivided state, she brings flavors of healing, nurturing, quietude, and refreshing down-to-earth humanity. Programs with Mukti are of the most intimate of Open Gate Sangha’s, and attract dedicated participants interested in sensing and supporting their unique spiritual journeys and expressions.
Private Meetings: Mukti meets with individuals who have participated in Open Gate Sangha retreats and online courses in order to further guide their path of realization through meditative, contemplative, and energetic practices. Private Meetings are currently on a donation basis and take place by phone. To inquire further about meeting with Mukti, please email Jackie or leave a voicemail for Jackie at (408) 299-0201.
