WHAT ARE THE GATHERING GROUPS LIKE?
The groups may vary in structure and format, but all groups meet to share the teachings of Adyashanti and Mukti. Some groups have chosen a silent format, where they meditate, watch a DVD, or listen to an audio recording, and leave in silence. Some listen to guided meditations, read from Adya’s books or Mukti’s articles, and share how these teachings have affected their lives. Whatever the format, there is an opportunity to join with others in the love of Truth.
DO I HAVE TO GO TO EVERY MEETING?
There is no required attendance, but most people find that the more often people attend, the more a sense of trust, intimacy, and depth can emerge for everyone who attends.
IS THERE A CHARGE?
There is no charge for these meetings, and all hosts are asked specifically by Open Gate Sangha not to charge any fee or to hold the groups for personal gain or promotion.
ARE THE PEOPLE WHO LEAD THE GROUP TEACHERS IN ADYA’S or MUKTI’S LINEAGE?
No host or group facilitator is sanctioned by Adyashanti or Mukti to act as a teacher or representative of their teachings. All hosts are sangha members who have volunteered to form a gathering group for the benefit of all who wish to attend. All who participate, including hosts, are asked not to assume the role of teacher within the group, but rather, come to the group with an open mind and heart for inquiry and to deepen their engagement with the teachings.
ARE THERE SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS TO ATTEND THE GROUP?
There are no special requirements to attend other than a sincere intention to explore the teachings.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
A list of all gathering groups currently active is available on the website based on location. Find a group that is accessible for you and use the link provided to contact the host. The host will reply with further details about the next scheduled meeting and any other details pertinent to that group.
DOES ANYONE FROM OPEN GATE SANGHA MONITOR WHAT HAPPENS IN THE GROUP?
The groups function independently from Open Gate Sangha, but there are staff who are available to the hosts to assist with guidance and suggestions for the groups and to offer assistance should anything arise within the group that is more challenging than the host or participants can address by themselves. Gathering Hosts also have the opportunity to communicate with one another to share ideas and experiences.
HOW CAN I BECOME A GATHERING HOST?
